Anonymous, Swiss, circa 1930 Interesting and rare Art Deco silver-gilt, enamel and hardstone combined desk clock and singing bird box.

C. Rectangular with sloping sides, the body decorated with black enamel, the border with a band of geometric designs, set with pyramid form chrisoberyl, the bird-box lid en suite with engraved clouds and stars; square clock frame behind, the back and underside engineturned, standing on five bone bun feet. D. Radially displayed 'modern' Arabic numerals against a black enamel ground, the centre enamelled in colours with herons, flanked by bars of stone. GiIt spade hands. M. Nickeled bar watch movement with 15 jewels, lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Bird movement with going barrel, rectangular bellows, the brightly feathered bird with turning body and moving beak, tail and wings. In good condition. Dims. 96 x 122 x 66 mm.
