Luigi Moschini in Firenze, Italian, circa 1820. Fine silver, quarter repeating coach watch with alarm.

C. Double body, Louis XVI, polished. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. GiIt brass arrow hands. M. GiIt brass full plate, with conical pillars, fusee with chain, early cylinder escapement with brass 'scape wheel, plain brass three armed balance, flat balance spring and gilt brass continental cock with polished steel endpiece. Repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant. Alarm train with fixed barrel. Signed on the dial and the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 90 mm.

Obviously, this watch was built from a Swiss or a French late XVIII centuryblanc, originally set with a verge escapement, but finished in Italy with the actual cylinder escapement.
