Thomas Earnshaw, Invenit et Fecit, London No.585- 3028, bearing the London Hallmarks for 1806-1807. Very fine 18 ct. gold pair cased pocket chronometer.
C. Double body, outer and inner, polished, a coat of arms, engraved on the back of the outer case. D. white enamel with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds ( very slightly restored on the border, beneath the bezel). Gold heart hands. M. Frosted and gilt, full plate with cylindrical pillars, the fusee with maintaining power, typical Earnshaw spring detent escapement and two armed cut bimetallic balance with trapezoidal weights, timing screws and diamond endstone, free sprung blued steel helical balance spring. Signed on the dial and the back plate. In very good condition, with an original paper in the case, giving the history of the owner's family and the date the chronometer was built. Diam. 58 mm.
