Very fine and important, gilt and silvered bronze, hour and half hour striking, moon phase astronomical, center seconds, mantel regulator, with perpetual calendar, special escapement, double thermometer and barometer.
C. GiIt bronze Corinthian, glazed on for sides, with fluted silvered columns. D. White enamel chapter with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, subsidiary dials for the days of the week, with inner moon phase aperture and outer lunar calendar ring, for the month, with outer perpetual calendar ring, for the barometer, glass pipes for Reaumur/Centigrade and Fahrenheit thermometers. Blued steel Breguet hands. Rectangular brass movement with turned pillars, going barrels on both trains, Desfontaine type escapement à coups perdus, allowing a dead center second hand, with a half second beating pendulum. Gridiron pendulum with thermometer in the bob. The calendar work is driven by the striking train once every 24 hours. Signed on the dial and the back plate. In very good condition.
