Extremely rare silver experimental quarter repeating watch with special escapement. Three body polished case, forme collier, with glazed back. Silver engine-turned back with Roman numerals. GiIt brass movement drawn from the Lepine caliber, Debaufre type frictional escapement with double steel ' scape wheel, plain steel three armed balance with parachute suspension, flat balance spring and very unusual compensation curb. Repeating on gongs. Diam. 54 mm.

Notes

Debaufre type frictional rest escapements on a Lepine caliber, are extremely rare. This unusual escapement is usually set on watches with full plate movement and therefore difficult to be seen property. This watch appears to be unique in the work of Louis Tavernier.
