Fine small 40 hour going marine chronometer. Three body mahogany box with external brass handles, glazed upper section with hinged lid. Brass bowl and gimballed suspension. Silvered dial with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and subsidiary seconds.Brass spotted finished full plate movement, relieved for the barrel, with conical pillars, fusee with maintaining power, Earnshaw type spring detent escapement, two armed bimetallic compensation balance with trapezoidal weights and timing screws, diamond end-stone, free sprung blued steel helical balance spring. Dial diam. 70 mm. Dim. 16x16x16 cm.
