Cleret, Elève de Robin, France, circa 1820. Very fine ormolu and white marbIe, hour and half-hour striking, mantle clock "aux Troubadours" with double calendar and organ.
C. The movement within a fluted marbIe rectangular block, flanked on each side with a gilt bronze figure of musician: a flute player on the left, a maiden playing mandoline on the right. GiIt engine-turned bezel. The organ movement is housed within the large marbIe base with applied gilt bronze decoration. Front and side gilt brass panels, pierced with floral and scrolled foliage decoration. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, inner date and days of the week indications. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Polished brass, full plate, with cylindrical pillars, going barrels, both for the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, half second beating pendulum with knife edge suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. Six tune playing organ movement with fusee and chain, fly regulator, brass pointed cylinder and 14 pipes in pewter. The music is released by the clock striking train once per hour, or at will by means of a lever on the side of the base.Signed on the dial; in very good condition. Dim. 80x45x20 cm.
