P. Orr & Sons, Madras, No. 1649, Swiss, made for the Indian Market, circa 1890. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel half hunting cased, moon phase, astronomical, keyless minute repeating watch with perpetual calendar and chronograph.
C. Four body, massive "bassine et filets", decorated with a blue champleve enamelled oriental decoration framed with a Greek pattern, the cover with Roman numerals on the border of the dial aperture. Gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute and chronograph ring, subsidiary dials for week days, months of the leap-year cycle, date and subsidiary seconds with inner moon phase aperture. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 18'° frosted and gilt, three quarter plate, 29 jewels, part in screwed settings, English lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, balance spring with terminal curve. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band, chronograph with button in the band. Signed on the dial and movement. In very good condition. Diam. 55 mm.
