?The Altar of Love? John Georg Schlicker in Neustadt, No. 369. Made circa 1780. Very fine and rare 18K gold and painted on enamel pocket watch with date.

Two-body, Louis XVI, the bezels with chased decoration, concealed hinge, the back panel enameled with a finely painted scene of a maiden in classical dress, paying tribute to the altar of Love, over an opalescent ground, outer paillonné decorated border. D. White enamel with upright Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and inner red Arabic date ring. Gold hour and minute hands. M. 38 mm., hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, micrometric potence adjustment, plain gilt brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece, silver regulation disc.
