?Purple and Pearls? English. Made circa 1790. Very fine and rare, 20K gold, enamel and pearl-set pocket watch with matching chatelaine, key and seal.

C. Two-body, the bezels set with large split-pearls, narrow faceted band, the back with engine-turned decoration overlaid with translucent purple enamel. Chatelaine: decorated to match the watch, two glazed navette-shaped panels with hairwork decoration, two tassels, a key and a seal with hardstone matrix, gilt spoon. D. Gold, engine-turned and matte, polished Arabic numerals, outer dot minute markers, winding aperture at 2 o?clock. Gold ?serpentine? hands. M. 30 mm., hinged, gilt full plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, chased foliate cock, silver regulation disc. Diam. 41 mm.
