Bagnolet (width 2.38 mm, including the dial), chased and engraved with foliate scrolls, 8 jewels, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, index regulator. Movement signed. Diam. 39 mm. Bagnolet Caliber In the bagnolet caliber the movement is inverted and the train reversed. The idea was to make a very thin watch by reducing the thickness of the bridges and the dial and eliminate the cuvette. Philippe Samuel Meylan is credited with the invention of the bagnolet caliber.
