John Lampe, London, 1038, circa 1710/1840. Interesting miniature silver-gilt table clock containing a large watch movement.

Tower clock form with florally engraved skirt and sides applied with cast coats-of arms, portrait busts, cherubs and standing figures within niches, the domed top with parcel-gilt figures of jousting knights (Austrian marks for 1840). D. Parcel-gilt silver champleve with Roman-and- Arabic hour and minute numerals, calendar aperture. Later blued-steel hands. M. GiIt full-plate with silvertopped Egyptian pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with plain steel balance and flat spring. Large and elaborate pierced and engraved silver balance and regulator cocks with cabochon end-stone. Signed on the dial and movement. In good condition. Dims. 155mm. x 110mm.
