?Pair of Small Silver Watches? Felix Guinand, Swiss, No. 73772 & Bovet & Co., 45068. Made for the Chinese market, circa 1875. Very fine and rare, small matched pair of silver pocket watches with center seconds, original morocco fitted case and a key signed J. Gaillard, Shanghai. The first:

C. Two-body, ?Consular?, polished, spring-loaded and glazed cuvette. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds divisions and Arabic 15 minute/second numerals. Blued steel ?spade? hands. M. 32 mm (14???), gilded and entirely foliate engraved, ?Chinese? caliber, 16 jewels, free-standing barrel, Jacot duplex escapement, bimetallic compensation balance with ?winged? weights, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. The second: C. Two-body, ?Consular?, polished, spring-loaded and glazed cuvette. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds divisions and Arabic 15 minute/second numerals. Blued steel ?ovoid? hands. M. 32 mm (14???), gilded and entirely foliate engraved, ?Chinese? caliber, 16 jewels, free-standing barrel, counterpoised lateral lever escapement, monometallic balance with blued steel ?winged? weights, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. The first signed Felix Guinand in Chinese characters on the case. The second signed B & Co. on the case. Diam. 40 mm.
