C. Virtual square form,walnut veneered with ebony mouldings,turned brass finials and gilt bun feet(traces where Iater metal mounts were fitted). D. Painted coper,the centre with a representation of Christ walking on the water, with 'star' border and pierced gilt chapter panel and pendulum aperture.Revolving chapter-ring with signs of the zodiac and pierced gilt Roman numeral plaques, the reverse with an elaborate garland of flowers on a gold leaf ground,the border with a landscape and painted spandrels. M. Extra large gilt fixed barrel,two wheel train, now with 'star'wheel pendulum escapement( probably originally with silent escapement),all retained on a single gilt crossbar.In good condition.
