Andreas Hemmings, Lubeck, and Jacob Anthoni, Augsburg, circa 1600. Important and large silver mounted crucifix clock, with hour striking and original fitted case.

C. Hexagonal gilt copper skirt, embossed with friuting foliage, a circular duim with pierced ballustrade supporting the engraved crucifix, mounted with silver beadwork and caryatid auricular scroll appliqués, silver figures of Mary and John, a skull between, silver Corpus Christi with winged cherubim above. Gilt scroll and bun feet. Original fitted tooled and gilt leather case with suede intenor. D. Revolving gilt sphere overlaid with pierced strapwork, silver ring with black enamelled Roman numerals. B.Circular, gilt brass, tumed pillars (replaced retaining screws) iron trains and fusee with gut, verge escapement now wiith brass balance, flat spring and plain cock (converted in the 18th. century). Strike train with fixed gilt barrel, gilt and engraved locking plate, the bell attached to the front plate. Back plate stamped with Lübeck town mark and clockmaker's mark, silver INRI plaque with Augsburg and silver maker's marks. In good condition. Dim: 47 x 18 x 18 cm.
