Thomas Mudge, No. 389, circa 1760. Very fine gold and enamel pair-cased quarter-repeating watch with chatelaine en suite.

Outer, double body entirely engraved with pattern of wavy lines and decorated with flowers and foliage in blue translucent bassetaille enamel (makers mark H.T.), the chatelaine decorated en suite with steel-backed clip suspending three panels and two chains. Inner, double body, pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage and grotesque mask. D. White enamel, Roman hour and Arabic minute numerals. "Louis XV" gilt hands (replacements). M. Gilt brass full-plate, turned pillars, fusee with chain, cylinder escapement with brass 'scape wheel, plain balance, flat sping with regulatorCock with foliage pierced table and diamond end stone, quarter-repeating on a bell and a-toc by depressing the pendant. Gilt dust cap. Signed on the back plate and dust cap. In good condition. Diam: 49mm.
