Willem Jan Bramer, Dutch, circa 1761. Fine gold repousse pair-cased watch and chatelaine.
C. Outer, double body embossed with flowers and scrolls, the back panel with a classical scene of the murder of Caesar by Brutus and his accomplices, partly in extra high relief. Inner, double body polished (London hallmark 1761, makers mark S.S.). Chatelaine of massive gold cast and chased with Urania on the clip, and suspending three panels, two chains, a period seal and another in contemporary style (Dutch hallmarks for mid 18th century). D. White enamel, Roman numerals, arcaded Arabic minute ring. "Louis XV" gilt hands. M. Gilt brass full-plate, square balluster pillars, fusee with chain,verge escapement, plain brass balance, flat spring and regulator, pierced continental cock. Signed on the movement. In good condition. Diam: 48mm.
