Anonymous, Swiss, 1800. Rare and unusual silver calendar watch with visible escapement.

C. Four body Empire case made in Augsburg, the band chased with a floral decoration, the back engine-turned and engraved with scrolls. Silver hinged cuvette, engraved with scrolls. D. White enamel eccentric, with Breguet numerals, central aperture revealing the verge escapement with a small mock balance, small subsidiary calendar ring above the aperture. Blued-steel hands. Frosted and gilt full plate movement with fusee and chain, the verge escapement visible through the central aperture, plain gold balance, flat balance spring. In good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
