C. Three body massive "forme quatre baguettes", polished, with back later glazed . D. White enamel with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, marked: "Echappement et Régulateur par Winnerl". Blued-steel Breguet hands. M. Fine frosted and gilt full plate, the gilt dial-rim engraved: " Robin - Hger. du Roi", with cylindrical pillars, fusee with maintaining power, spring detent escapement, three armed cut bimetallic balance with faceted trapezoidal weights, blued-steel helical free-sprung balance spring, Emery type engraved balance bridge and hair spring stud,diamond endstone.Signed on the dial and movement. In good condition; Diam. 59 mm.

This chronometer was made by Winnerl from an early movement made by Robert Robin shortly after the first Emery lever watches were imported to France for the King in 1786. Winnerl clearly intended to acknowledge Robins skill, not only by upgrading one of his watches, but also by recording his contribution on the dial.
