?Lantern Clock? A 19th century replica of a lantern clock made by Peter Stretch, Leek (Staffordshire, England), circa 1690. Fine brass and iron lantern clock with hour striking and alarm.
C. Brass posted frame with flower and leaf frets to the front and sides, plain side doors, 4 turned vase-shaped finials supporting the top-mounted bell beneath straps and a final, wall hoop and 2 spikes. D. Silvered chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, fleur-de-lys half-hour divisions, inner quarter-hour track, flower engraved centre, alarm setting disc engraved with a stylized rose. Blued steel single hand. M. Weight driven two-train, verge escapement with short-bob-pendulum, striking train with locking plate. Dial signed Peter Stretch. Dim. 38 x 14.5 x 13 cm.
