?The Binnacle? French. Made circa 1890. Very fine and rare, gilt and patinated brass, double-dialed, cloisonné enamel and jade, nauticalstyle ?weather-station? table clock with thermometer, barometer, compass and revolving case.

Circular onyx base, flared section above decorated with rope, an anchor and chain and a lifebelt, rotating upper section powered from the base, cloisonné decorated band, 4 out-set cloisonné enamel pillars and canopy above with domed cupola and finial, the 4 sides set with the 2 meantime dials, the barometer and thermometer, the top set with the compass. D. Silvered with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel hands. M. Winding from the base and geared to both dials, the upper section of the case rotating with the action of the movement. Height 50 cm.
