?The Beam Engine? French. Made circa 1890. Fine and very rare, bronze, red marble and gilt brass industrial clock in the form of a hydraulic piston pump with thermometer and barometer.

Rectangular rouge marble base over a brass base, the clock in the center housed in the engine base with barometer to the right and thermometer above, the top with an arm having an attached piston on one side, the driving arm and wheel on the other side. D. Silvered with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, frosted gilt center. Blued steel hands. M. Circular, brass, large going barrel, anchor escapement, spring suspension with X-shaped arrangement, pistons suspended with springs with cycloid cheeks, micrometer regulator. Dim. 32.5 x 34.5 x 12.5 cm.
