?Four-Pillar Clock? French. Made circa 1800. Fine and unusual, gilt brass mantel clock with hour and half-hour striking, turned wood base and glass shade.
C. Two horizontal circular plates flanked by 4 turned pillars with 4 vase finials, the pendulum swinging in the center, the clock mounted on a pierced frame above, chased bezel. D. Annular, white enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic quarter-hour numerals. Pierced and engraved gilt brass hands. M. Circular, gilt brass, going barrels for both trains, anchor escapement, silk suspension, pendulum with gilt brass sunburst bob, countwheel striking on a bell. Height 41 cm.
