?The Locomotive? French. Made circa 1890. Very fine and extremely rare, gilt and patinated brass clock in the form of a locomotive with hour and halfhour striking, independent automaton, barometer and thermometer.
C. Patinated and gilt brass, the thermometer mounted on the chimney, the barometer in the boiler and the clock in the cabin, the train?s wheels with separate mechanism released by a lever, on a rectangular black marble base with brass feet. D. Brass with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel ?Breguet? hands. M. Circular, brass, 2-train, anchor escapement, striking on a bell. Dim. 50 x 44 x 22 cm.
