?L? Amerique? Quarter Repeater Swiss, case No. 14636. Made circa 1820. Fine, silver, quarter-repeating pocket watch with automaton Jacks.
C. Three-body, ?Directoire?, reeded band, engine-turned back. Hinged gilt brass cuvette. D. Silver engine-turned dial plate with radial Roman numerals on a small central chapter ring, varicoloured gold and applied ?native?-style jacks to each side appearing to strike two bells above, grassy base with a bird and baskets Blued steel ?mixed? hands. M. Gilt brass full plate with plain brass three-arm balance with flat balance spring. Gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Case stamped with case maker`s mark ?LJV?. Diam. 55 mm.
