Very fine and rare 18 ct. gold keyless minute repeating watch with a four hammer Westminster Carillon, Swiss patent No 11948, in original Morocco fitted case. Four body massive "demi-bassine" polished case. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "spade" hands. GiIt brass 20- movement, 32 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on four gongs with four hammers by means of a slide on the band. In very good condition. Diam. 56 mm. A similar watch, made by Ed. Jean Richard, Locle, from the M.I.H. of La Chaux de Fonds, is illustrated in A. Chapuis: Les grands artisans de la chronometrie , page 227, fig. 161 and 162.
