H. Barbezat - Bâle, Locle, No. 2419, Swiss, circa 1893. Retailed by Heiniger & Bachmann, Medellin. Very fine 18 ct. gold hunting cased minute repeating keyless "grande and petite sonnerie" clock-watch, with an alternative silver dial with applied gilt floral decoration , in a fitted leather case with Bulletin de Marche.

Four body massive "demi-bassine et filets" engine turned case, the cover with a blank escutcheon, gold cuvette engine turned on the edge and engraved with the principal technical features. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "pear" hands. Fine nickel plated 20"' double train movement with a differential winding, "fausses côtes" decoration, 34 jewels, two screwed settings, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring.Striking and repeating on gongs, strike/silent, grande/petite sonnerie setting levers on the bezel, repeat train released by a boit on the band. Signed on the cuvette. In very good condition. Diam. 50 mm. This watch was tested at the Observatoire de Neuchâtel with the following results marche moyenne - 1.49 secs. Variation moyenne ± 0.68 secs. Difference entre les marches extrêmes 4.0 secs.
