Saulet à Paris, Saint Alban, Swiss, dated 1823. Fine 18 ct. gold quarter repeating musical watch with an automaton scene.

Three body massive "Empire" case, with reeded band and engine turned back. GiIt brass cuvette. Very small off set dial with Arabic numerals. Blued steel "lance" hands. Fine three coloured gilt automaton scene depicting a lady playing the Harp while a young boys is beating the drum. Double train gilt brass movement with free standing barrels, the going train with inverted cylinder escapement and plain brass three arm balance, the musical train with a pointed disc and 26 vibrating steel blades. The automaton scene is driver by the musical train by means of levers and cams. Repeating on gongs by means of the depressing pendant. Signed and dated on the cuvette. In good condition. Diam. 58 mm.
