Anonymous, Swiss, circa 1800. Very fine 20 ct. gold, enamel and gem-set quarterrepeating Jacquemart watch.

Massive two-body "Directoire" case with bright-cut engraved bezels. Royal blue guilloché enamelled dial plate decorated with gold paillons. White enamel dial and 6 o' clock with Arabic chapters and outer minute ring. Bluedsteel "variées" hands. Visible stone-set spiral armed balance in a glazed aperture above. Applied three-colour gilt jacks in classical costume. Circular full plate frosted and giIt movement. Fusee and chain. Verge escapement with top pivot and balance spring concealed beneath the dial. Hinged and sprung gilt dust-cap. Repeating on a bell or à toc, switchable by a slide on the interior of the case. In excellent condition. Diam. 58 mm.
