"Le Guet", made by Valmé, No. 3509, Swiss, circa 1930. Rare small nickel plated brass eight day going quarter repeating "petite sonnerie" carriage clock.
Rectangular "Anglaise cannelée" case, glazed on five faces, the handle on the top. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals. GiIt brass Louis XV hands. Rectangular gilt brass eight day movement, 13 jewels, the going barrels set one above the other, and passing through the back plate, platform straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Striking and repeating on gongs, the striking mechanism released for the repeating function by means of a button on the top. Strike/silent selection lever on the back plate. Signed on the back plate. In good condition. Dim. 86x55x52 mm.
