Lefebure, French, CIrca 1820 A very rare Charles X striking mantel clock with doublewheel duplex escapement.

GiIt bronze "Empire" style case with cast and chasted acanthus decoration on the base, conjoined laurel leaf and flower columns and frieze, with entwined serpents forming the handle. Glazed on four sides the back panel rising for access to the movement. Circular frosted and silvered diai with engraved Roman chapters. Inverted movement with circular plates, going barrels and half-hour locking plate striking on a bell with star pattern pierced count-wheel. Frosted and silvered brass platform mounted on the base with steel and brass "scape wheels". Plain four-arm, brass balance with spiral spring. Signed on the dial, movement with initiais PR. In good condition. Dim. 26 x 15.4 x 11.7 cm.
