Anonymous, French. Circa 1885. Fine oval grande-sonnerie striking and repeating carriage clock, with original travelling case and key.

GiIt brass moulded case glazed on all sides, ahite enamel dial with roman chapters. Blued steel Breguet hands. Subsidiary enamel rings below for weekday, alarm and date with blued steel pointers. Frosted and silvered mask. Rectangular brass movement with going barrels, striking on two gongs, grande/petite sonnerie/silence interchange lever in the base in German script. Frosted and silvered platform with lateral lever escapement and compensation balance. In very good condition. Dim. 14.9 x 12.4 x 10.2 cm excluding handle.
