A L'Emeraude, Lausanne, Swiss, circa 1935. Very fine and elegant 18 ct.bi-color gold keyless dress watch "à volets" .
Three piece "variée carrure carrée" satiné case with white gold borders and bow, the dial aperture closed by two shutters opening by means of a push piece on the band opposite the pendant. Mat silver dial with Arabic nurnerals, disclosed by the shutters. Blued steel "pear" hands. Fine rhodium plated 17"' movement bearing the Geneva quality mark, "fausses côtes" decoration, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Signed on the dial. In very good condition. Diam. 45 mm. Very similar watches were made for Cartier in Paris.
