Anonymous, Swiss, made for the Chinese market, circa 1830. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel pearl set quarter repeating watch.

Four body massive "Empire" case with split pearl set bezel border, pendant and bow, champlevé enamelled floral decoration on the band, very fine flowers painted in their natural colors on the translucent orange enamel of the back, over engine turning. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. GiIt brass bar movement with a free standing barrel, cylinder escapement, plain three armed brass balance with a polished steel endpiece and a blued steel flat balance spring. Repeating on gongs by means of the depressing pendant. In very good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
