James Watts, London, No 552, made for the Oriental market, circa 1790. Fine gilt brass mounted crystal, paste set and enamel scent bottle watch.

The watch with red paste set bezel, is mounted in the center of a diamond cut crystal scent bottle, the enamel back with a painted allegorical scene depicting Justice, a lion at her feet (hair cracks and scratches). White enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals (hair cracks). Paste set Louis XV hands. GiIt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with a plain steel three armed balance and an English cock. Signed on the back plate. In good condition. Dim. 165x76 mm.
