William Ilbery, London, No 6541, bearing the London Hallmarks for 1808-1809, the enamel scene attributable to Richter. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel pair cased watch for the Chinese market.

Double body outer case with a champlevé enamelled decoration the the bezel and border, a very fine scene of four children playing with marbles, painted in a medaillon on the translucent blue enamelled back, over engine turning. Double body "bassine" polished inner case. GiIt brass dust cap. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Gold arrow hands. Gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, duplex escapement with a brass escape wheel, a plain three armed polished steel balance, finely engraved gilt brass cock bearing the index, diamond endstone. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 56 mm.
