Leopold Huguenin, Locle, No 11928, circa 1880. Fine and unusual 18 ct. gold hunting cased keyless watch with independent split seconds and 1/4 second diablotine.
Four body massive "bassine et filet" engine turned case with reeded band. Gold cuvette engine turned on the edge. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute and second rings, small subsidiary dial for the " foudroyante" Blued steel Breguet hands. Fine glazed nickel finished 20' movement, "fausses côtes" decoration, double train of wheels with a differential winding, 23 jewels, equilibrated straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. The independent split second mechanism is operated by means of push pieces on the band. Signed on the dial and the movement. In very good condition. Diam. 56 mm.
