Unsigned, Swiss, the tourbillon by Ernest Guinand, made for the Spanish market, circa 1880. Very fine 18 ct. gold hunting cased, keyless pocket chronometer with a one minute "tourbillon" regulator.
Four body massive "demi-bassine et filets" polished case, gold cuvette. Engine turned gold dial with Roman numerals and applied three coloured gilt floral decoration. Blued steel Breguet hands. Very fine nickel plated 19"' movement, " fausses côtes" decoration, the bridge in the form of conjoined initiais, 12 jewels on the carriage, pivoted detent escapement, gold escape wheel, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel balance spring with a terminal curve. The three armed polished steel carriage of Guinand 2nd. pattern, is driven by the third wheel. In very good condition. Diam. 53 mm. Guinand, produced three models of Tourbillon carriage, and cluring his lifetime worked for several important makers including Girard Perregaux and Montandon.
