C. Pyramid-shaped wood with rosewood parquetry veneered sides, gold and black lacquerer mouldings, detachable front panel with brass handle. Clock cover of wood frame construction past glass and wicker-work frets. Clock with splask cast brass side doors and panels. D. Brass with Japanese numerals, red lacquer centre ( distressed). Single steel pointer. M. Iron lantern frame, with all iron wheels. Verge escapement with silk suspended foliot and adjustable weights. Striking on large "clock" bell mounteci above. Signed in Japanese characters on case. In fairly good condition. Dim. 87 cm. high x 35 cm. square.
