a. Brosse, Bordeaux, circa 1825.Very interesting and rare gilt brass watch with special escapement and unusual caliber and dial.

C. Three-body, "Empire", glazed back, polished bezels and band. D. Silvered, snap-on, three letters for each hour, which when read together form the sentence "Ne nous gaspille pas. si tu veux etre heureux" (don't waste us if you want to be happy), outer minute ring, with five-minute Arabic markers. Blued steel elaborate hands, hour hand mounted to a frosted silvered disc. M. 47 mm, large standing barrel with female winding square mounted to a steel disc inserted into the front plate, train set ithe right part under blued steel single plate with brass bushings, symmetrical mock plate to the left, lateral lever escapement - a cross between cylinder and rack lever, in which the cylinder is fitted with a lever terminated with a rack meshing with a half-pinion forming the balance staff, two banking pins. Cutting the leaves of the staff pinion only on one third of its periphery provides overbanking protection, the uncut part working like a safety roller table. Plain three-arm gilt jeweled blance with blued steel flat balance spring.Signed on the dial.Diam. 51 mm.b. M. 45.2 mm, Lepine caliber, large standing barrel with female winding square, lateral lever escapement - a cross between cylinder and rack lever, in which the cylinder is fitted with a lever terminated with a rack meshing with five teeth cut on a small part of a wheel set on the balance staff, two banking pins. Cutting the leaves of the staff pinion only on one thirdof its periphery provides overbanking protection, the uncut part working like a safety roller table. Plain three-arm gilt balance with blued steel flat balance spring.Diam. 51 mm.
