"Pivoted Detent Chronometer" Swiss, "Chronometre", No. 50776. Made circa 1890. Very fine, 18K gold, half hunting-cased, keyless pocket chronometer with pivoted detent escapement.

C. Four-body, "bassine", polished, spring-loaded front cover with glazed aperture, black enamel radial Roman chapter ring, inner minute track. Hinged gold cuvette, glazed gold-rimmed cover to view the movement. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds. Gold "spade" hands. M. 42 mm., 19''', rhodium-plated, "sunray" and "oeil-de-perdrix" decoration, 17 jewels, 4 in chatons, pivoted detent chronometer escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with peripheral timing screws, blued steel helical balance spring, index regulator.
