"Quarter Repeater, Demi Chronometer" Henry Capt, Genève, No. 24736. Made circa 1870. Fine and rare, 18K gold, quarter-repeating, keyless lever "demi chronometre".
C. Three-body, "bassine et filet", polished and engine-turned, the back cover with engraved monogram. Glazed gold-rimmed cover to view the movement. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "fleur-de-lys" hands. M. 40 mm., 19''', rhodiumplated, "fausses cotes" decoration, 31 jewels, wolf's tooth winding, gold wheel train, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 48 mm.
