Rectangular, the hinged lid decorated with a painted on enamel scene of a gentleman wooing a resistant lady with her companion in a landscape, the interior with engraved dedication, engraved foliate scroll and purple translucent enamel border, the band cast with a continuous band of roses, the base overlaid with translucent purple enamel on a radiating engine-turned ground. Signed on the rim of the lid. Dim. 85 x 54 x 13 mm. Property of a European Collector
