"Lake Geneva" Piguet & Meylan, No. 607, the box by Georges Reymond, enamel attributed to Jean-Louis Richter (1766-1841). Made circa 1815. Very fine and very rare, small, 18K gold and painted on enamel musical box, in the original morocco fitted box.
C. Three-body, rectangular, engine-turned with edges in champlevé blue enamel alternating with stylized foliage, under the lid compartment a very finely painted on enamel scene depicting an extensive landscape overlooking Lake Geneva with a shepherd in the foreground, the city of Geneva, and the Salève and the Mont Blanc in the background. M. 53 x 33 mm, gilt brass, sur plateau pinned disc with 31 tuned vibrating blades set on both sides (15 on top, 16 on the other side) in a fan-shaped arrangement, pinion governor set in eccentric socket for tempo regulating, male winding key. Case punched with Piguet & Meylan and Georges Reymond?s master marks. Dim. 55 x 35 mm. Property of a European Collector
