Comprising: chatelaine with three strands of faceted gold beads, gold rectangular panel, decorated on each side with turquoise enamel with white-line and translucent green enamel border, set with rose-cut diamonds on each side, four attachments of two tassels, a watch key, decorated to match the chatelaine, a miniature cut glass perfume bottle; a propelling pencil key with hardstone- set slide, by Sampson Mordan & Co.; a key with dog?s head and hardstone-set finial; a key with lion?s head finial; a key set with two faceted square agates; a Masonic key with two swivel panels engraved with Masonic symbols. Sampson Mordan The firm was renowned for its novelty pencils and pens in silver and gold and other patented items but was also famous for a large range of other wares in silver and gold, particularly of a novelty character. The quality of objects produced was extremely high and the firm supplied many articles to a large number of top retailers, such as Asprey & Sons, Walter Thornhill & Co, Collingwood & Co and many others.
