Comprising: a large varicoloured gold key decorated with a military trophy; two gold keys set with faceted glass stones; a pistolform key; a gold hoof-form key; a gold lyre-shaped key with rococo scroll; two gold ratchet keys with seal terminals; a square key; a repousse silver key with hinged panels; the chatelaine with pierced and engraved decoration, polished spoon, faceted cut steel key, kay with diamond-cut and beaded decoration and matching seal, the matrix engraved AMD in gothic letters. Cut steel work developed in Russia but became very popular in France during the late 18th and early 19th Century. English jewellers also exported this very popular commodity and by the early 19th century Italy, Prussia, Spain, and Russia were also producing it. Cut steel jewellery was worn the Empress Josephine and was popular even to the point of being copied in silver.
