"Roman Gods" Louis Robert à Genève, No. 7451. Made circa 1820. Fine, quarter-repeating, silver pocket watch with striking automaton Jacks.
C. Three-body, "Empire", engine-turned. Gilt-metal cuvette fixed to the movement ring. D. Small white enamel, set in the center with Breguet numerals and outer minute divisions, set on royal blue enamel ground fitted with animated varicolored gold Jacks in Roman costume appearing to strike the hours and quarters, a lion on a grassy bank below. M. 42 mm 19''', frosted gilt full-plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance-spring, continental cock, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Cuvette signed. Diam. 55 mm.
