?Miniature Globe Clock? Redier a Paris. Made circa 1873. Fine and rare, gilt brass and enamel, worldtime, eight day going desk clock designed as a terrestrial globe.

C. Gimbaled on a brass turned baluster stand with octagonal black marble base, the globe painted on enamel with countries and names. D. Arabic numerals on circular convex white enamel cartouches applied to a gilt brass equatorial ring. Steel and gilt brass sun pointer. M. Eight day going circular movement within the globe with central going barrel, platform cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with regulator. The whole movement mounted around a central axis carrying at one end the single hand, at the other a counterweight which serves to maintain the globe inclined on its axis at 23 1/2° to the ecliptic, the globe and hour ring being driven around them. Signed on the globe with Redier's monogram. Diam. 10 cm, Height: 21 cm. Property of an Swiss Gentleman
