Sold: EUR 40,000

?Gérald Genta celebrates César? A lifelong friendship between the two artists finds its expression today in this unique timepiece. Both men met in Geneva for the opening of Gérald Genta?s shop. From that moment onwards a true artistic complicity developed between them which translated itself in numerous trips to Roquefort les Pins, to Paris or to Grasse where both men met up with Arman. For César, Gérald Genta manufactured in gold his famous ?breast? and sold them alongside with his ?compression? method that the sculptor favoured. But he had to add as always a unique movement. This watch is equipped with a movement called ?à evolution? which is totally innovative in its conception. As for the case and dial they are the result of the ?compression? of the three colours of gold. Time runs, you cannot capture it but art stays forever. This is the message of this watch. Notes

A prolific creator of watches, with many legendary watches to his name, Gérald Genta passionately pursues his quest for new challenges. For the very latest model in the Gérald Charles collections, he has opted for a timepiece boasting a highly elegant dial, with just a single hand ? the minute hand ? running over it. Instead of the conventional display of time, he has given preference to the more mysterious charm of a window allowing a progressive glimpse of the hours as they pass by. A COMPLICATION THAT MAKES IT EASIER TO TELL THE TIME With this latest creation, Gérald Charles has introduced a completely new way of telling the time, marking the outcome of a very high level of technical prowess coupled with an unrivalled aesthetic creativity. Although the distinctive design, elegant materials and talent and boldness of Gérald Genta are what first catch the eye, it is the window at 12 o'clock which reveals the true inventiveness and technical mastery that have been channelled into this creation. The innovative module inside the A-Evolution gives an original view of the time, expressed by a sliding hour, making it considerably easier to read. The ingenious nature of this system derives from its simplicity for the wearer, who needs to tell the time. This "simple complication" thus marks a move in the Gérald Charles collections towards refined, technical models, offering everyday wearing comfort at the same time.
