White enamel, bold Arabic hour sector to the left, sector with minute divisions and five-minute Arabic numerals to the right, applied gilt figure of a Roman centurion constantly pointing to the hours and minutes with his arms, winding and setting apertures at his feet. M. Hinged, gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance-spring, gilt continental cock with polished steeend-piece, rack and pinion regulator.Diam. 55 mm.

"Bras en l'air" watches usually feature a figure who lifts his arms when the pendant is depressed, thus pointing to the correct time. Watches which, like this one, have a figure with arms permanently raised, are extremely rare.
